Ran Levi & Shinobi Productions
Shinobi Productions is a performance creative studio in Herzliya, Israel. It was founded in 2017 by Ran Levi, a director, editor and motion designer, and makes video ads for ecommerce, SaaS and product brands in Israel and the US.
What Shinobi Productions does
Shinobi plans, shoots and edits video ads for paid social and the web, and treats every production as a bank of assets rather than a single film. A shoot is planned backwards from the ads it has to become, so it yields a family of hooks, cuts and aspect ratios that can be tested and refreshed. Every brand works with one senior creative lead from strategy to delivery, with hand-picked crew when a production needs more.
Ran Levi
Ran is a director, producer, editor, cinematographer and motion designer with more than ten years in video. He writes the concept and the script, directs the shoot, cuts the edit and builds the motion and VFX himself. Once the ads are live, he reads the performance data and plans the next round from it.
He has made ads for brands including Guardio, Miro, Mixtiles, Pleo, Blue Apron and Nectar, and works in Hebrew and English with teams in Israel and the US. Off set, he is a Taekwondo black belt and instructor.

Six working rules for video ads
The rules every Shinobi production is built on, from the brief to the next round.
Start from the ad
Decide what has to run, where and against which hook, then write the shot list from that, not from a mood board.
Fix the expensive things
Location, set, talent and offer stay constant. Openings, on-screen text, pacing and voice-over change between cuts, because those are what testing can afford to change.
The hook is a test
Several openings are shot for the same body, so the account finds out which one stops the scroll instead of guessing.
Every ratio on purpose
9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 are framed on set, not cropped afterwards in the edit.
AI is a tool
Generative tools speed up assets and versions inside a real production. They do not replace the idea.
One senior lead
The person who pitched the idea directs and cuts it. No handoffs between vendors, no telephone game.
